Friday, the October 7th was the most memorable day for all employees of Intervet India for celebrating the CSR Award, the inauguration of the expanded FMDV facility at Wagholi factory and dedicating to the site the statue of the founder of the Wagholi Factory, Padmashree Dr.Manibhai Desai. This grand celebration was witnessed by all 307 employees together, for the first time in the history of Intervet India.
Intervet India's commitment to Society and its CSR projects were recognized with the CSR award. It was awarded with the 1st prize amongst all Akzo Nobel Co's of the world and the award was presented to Victor van Solinge and Lino Camponovo, the ex and present Managing Directors respectively, at the hands of Mr. Hans Wijers CEO Akzo Nobel. Akzo Nobel is a Dutch conglomerate and a leading 'Fortune 500' company. Both in 2003 and 2004 fortune ranked Akzo Nobel the 6th most admired chemical company in the world. Mr Hans Wijers spoke about Akzo's belief to be an honest and reliable business partner, protecting the environment and showing respect for our neighbours and creating their respect in return. He also reiterated that, to find the right answers to all these demands is not easy, but, in essence, that is what Corporate Social Responsibility is all about. He commended Intervet India for not only working for its employees, but also thinking for their families and their neighborhoods.
The expanded facility of FMD Vaccine production was inaugurated by Han Wijers. with this enhanced FMDV production capacity Intervet India's commitment to control programs of GOI will further get strengthened.
Ruurd Stolp - President, Intervet International bv, unveiled the statue of Late Dr Manibhai Desai, the founder of the Pune manufacturing plant. The Gandhian Philosopher who dreamed and worked for self sufficiency of rural marginal farming families and founded this manufacturing site to support animal healthcare, was dedicated to the site by Ruurd Stolp. He appreciated the development done by Intervet India in providing Animal Healthcare and also commended the progress made on production and quality parameters.
His Excellency, Eric F E Neihe, Ambassador from The Netherlands to India appreciated Intervet India's initiatives and commitment to the quality veterinary products, technology and services and also the responsible 'Involvement' with activities towards the society.
Lino Camponovo, the Managing Director of Intervet India reiterated Intervet India's commitment, in line with Akzo Nobel's vision, towards People, Planet and Profit to fulfill the business commitments and also the responsibilities towards the society to ultimately attain Pride for all employees of the organization.
