Nobilis® Gumboro 228E

Infectious Bursal Disease

Description :
A freeze-dried culture of a non-pathogenic strain of Infectious Bursal Disease virus.

Indication :
Live virus vaccine for the active immunization of chickens against Infectious Bursal Disease.

Dosage and Administration :
One dose per chicken via the drinking water

Vaccination Scheme :
The vaccine virus strain 228E is a less attenuated intermediate IBDV strain. As aresult of this, the irus is capable to break through the maternal immunity at an earlier stage and will spread better through the vaccinated flock. The age at which chickens can be successfully vaccinated depends on the level of maternal derived antibodies (MDA) and therefore on the kind of chickens and on the way the parent breeding flock is vaccinated.

Guideline :

  1. Broiler derived from parent flocks vaccinated with live Gumboro vaccines only, can be vaccinated from day 7-14.
  2. Broilers derived from parent flocks vaccinated with inactivated Gumborovaccines, can be vaccinated from day 14-17.
  3. The vaccination of future laying stock derived from parent flocks vaccinated with live Gumboro vaccines only, should be carried out from day 14-21.
  4. The vaccination of future laying stock derived from parent flocks vaccinated with inactivated Gumboro vaccines should be carried out from day 21-28.

Above presented scheme is based on the fact that at these time periods the MDA levels in that particular progeny have decreasd sufficiently (e.g. 2 log VN titre between approximately 7.0 and 8.5) to vaccinate them successfully with Gumboro Vaccine Nobilis strain 228E but are still high enough to protect them against infection with circulating field viruses.

Immunity :
A protective immunity will develop in approximately 2 weeks time after vaccination.

Postvaccination reactions :
Postvaccination reactions have not been observed after vaccination of healthy chickens.

Presentations :
Boxes containing 10 vials of 1000, 2500 doses of vaccine.
